Freeform Parallax and Extension
Create wide repeating scenery, split depth layers, and extend connected side-scrolling segments.
Create the source
Start with a wide horizontally tileable background using the Parallax preset. Compose broad depth separation and avoid important objects touching both near and far planes.
Split depth layers
The Parallax Splitter produces foreground, optional midground, and background outputs. Choose two or three layers depending on the scene. Inspect each layer for missing areas and edge artifacts.
Edit layers
Each generated layer can be inspected, opened in the Image Editor, or regenerated. Keep transparent gaps intentional and test the layers together at different scroll speeds.
Extend a segment
Extension uses an existing segment and adds content on the left or right. When extending a map segment, the neighboring segment can be provided as context so the join is more coherent. Check both visual continuity and horizontal repeatability.
Use in maps
Side-scrolling Map Projects use background segments, tile segments, and props. Parallax source and split layers belong to the background portion of that workflow.
